Abstract
We propose in this paper a new local operator designed to perform the coding of a two-dimensional pattern, in image processing. This operator realizes a thresholding which permits to transform a linear image in a two bits coded image. It presents the advantage to achieve the determination of the perimeter and of the surface. An application at the automatic inspection of woad boards by artificial vision is expected.
